December 11, 1771, Martin Rohrer of Conococheague, Frederick County, obtained Peter Schleitz for 3 years and 6 months for 16 pounds, 13 shillings, and Daniel Voltz for 6 years for 17 pounds, 5 shillings, 3 pence. At the expiration of their services each was to receive, besides the usual two suits of wearing apparel, an ox, a grubbing hoe, and a maul and wedges, or 40 shillings in money.

Not certain this pertains to Martin d. 1806; may be impossible to ever kmow for sure. But, not inconceivable that Martin d. 1806 would be looking for help because he had no sons of his own, just the 7 daughters.
